SOCOM is a squad-based strategy shooter where you have to lead your team of soldiers across the enemy lines and complete your objective as safely as possible. SOCOM is designed to be as realistic as possible with realistic gadgets, bullet damage, and shooting mechanics. SOCOM started out as an offline split-screen shooter on the Play Station 2 system with SOCOM 2 closely following as Sony's premiere online shooting strategy game. After SOCOM 2's huge success we've seen many additions to the franchise including SOCOM Confrontation on the Play Station 3 and three individual SOCOM titles on the hand held Play Station Portable.
